South Arrival Centre takes care of orphaned children and women that are victims of abuse.
We have educational programs; take the children to school and skills development programs for the women that are victims of abuse.
South Arrival Centre is a national beacon and the local community standard for serving orphaned children and women that are victims of abuse.
Restore the community one person at a time and serve as a beacon of hope to those that are helpless.
SAC was founded by Millicent Mackenzie to alleviate the number of orphans, women
and children that are victims of abuse within local communities. The biggest challenge
has been to transport the children to school, collection of food and clothing from
various sponsors and funding in order to make this Centre a success in meeting the
needs of those women and children. The national trend for human service
organizations is to consolidate services and programs for children and women that are
victims of abuse. South Arrival Centre will be divided into four local emergency shelters.
Each one of these local emergency Centre’s will focus on the specific needs and
requirements of the individuals that need assistance.
It is becoming increasingly difficult for SAC to attract funding, because of the challenge
of obtaining proper transportation to run these projects effectively. In order for South
Arrival Centre to continue as a viable service provider for the orphaned and women and
children that are victims of abuse, population evaluation must be made, alternatives
considered, and proactive forward thinking decisions made. The primary demand for
this service is a constant need in our community and we live in a country that has a
growing rate of human trafficking and gender base violence due to various reasons,
poverty ranking the highest.
Funding for SAC will be pursued through government grants, sponsorships and various
funding organizations that we need to identify to work with us. Transitional shelter for
orphans, women and their children that are victims of abuse and those affected by
HIV/AIDS & COVID-19 with the assistance of Department of Social Development,
Department of Health, Department of home affairs, Department of Art and Culture,
SAPS and various other departments of government we would like to align with in order
to create a program that ensures the enrichment and betterment of their development.
